Marble furniture is usually assembled. A slab top sits on a separate base, and the joint between them interrupts the stone.

Monad, designed by Sebastian Herkner for the Turkish brand Enne, is carved from a single block instead. The coffee table was a winner in the furniture design category at the 2026 European Product Design Award.

Working from one volume lets the material appear in its purest form. The veining runs continuously through the piece, showing the stone’s natural character without breaks.

Mass is handled carefully. Softened oval edges and recessed surfaces lighten the table visually, so it does not read as a heavy block.

The rounded legs emerge directly from the same volume. They give the piece a calm structural balance and a subtle sense of suspension, despite the solidity of the material.

Monad lets a single stone do everything, and the result has the quiet confidence of an object that needs no joints to explain itself.
